Communication

Mighty Communicators

A minor but important issue for everyone to consider now the season is underway.  As a Club we do need to maximise on the communication options available to us all in order to get teams, events and other important social activities highlighted.

Early this week Duncan put a Facebook message out regarding Sam's birthday and an evening curry in Knaresborough following the Evening League game at Goldsborough.  He assumed that because no-one, including myself, had responded that everyone was up for it.  They weren't and a booking for 12 people ended up being significantly less.

If we are all going to unite as a Club in getting together to play and socialise, lets communicate and reply to any Facebook message, emails or Blogs that appear on the circuit.

Part of the enjoyment of playing for Dacre is that we socialise wherever it might be.  And with modern technology this is quicker and easier than before.  So lets bear this in mind when messages are either posted on Facebook or the Blog.

Our new pavilion is a great opportunity for some post-match socialising.  Lets enjoy it whichever team we play for.

  1. Hi Guys,

I agree that part of the enjoyment of playing village cricket is the socialising aspect of it.

With regards to communication, not everyone has a Facebook account including myself, so I was unaware that a table had been booked for the curry. Even if messages are posted onto the Blog this doesn't guarantee that the relevant people will read them. Personally I think a phone call or text message would be a better way of establishing numbers when organising nights out.
