There are a further 25 prize winners.  Sue will have either contacted you about any prizes won or if not please give her a call.

The total income for ticket sales this year was disappointing.  A total of 750 books were issued to club members.  Only 505 books were sold leaving a shortfall of 245 unsold.

In money terms, £505 was raised as opposed to a potential £750. Deducting the first prize, this meant we raised £445 against a possible £700.

Those of you who did not sell your tickets will know who you are.

We have discussed, and continue to discuss, raising funds for our small Club.  Two ticket sales per season, the Christmas Draw and Duck Race, should raise in excess of £1400,  PROVIDED  that all tickets are sold. A successful selling of tickets means that other fundraising events don't have to be organised to cover our financial commitments. I believe this is the easiest and simplest way to generate funds rather than organising events which are not then supported or attended.

At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, THIS IS YOUR CLUB. To keep membership fees as low as we currently do means that any activity that you are asked to support including the selling of tickets needs YOUR commitment.

In future please make every effort in selling your tickets when asked to.  The alternative is membership fees rising to very high levels. which no-one wants.

A big thank you to all members who sold their tickets in support of our club.  Also thank you to Sue and Dave Marshall for co-ordinating the draw efficiently as ever.

In the meantime, I wish every DBCC cricket club member and their families a peaceful and enjoyable Christmas.  We all look forward to a more prosperous 2014, both on and off the cricket field.

Cheers

Jonny The Chair
