Despite a half century and a catch in the 1st match of the season,
Dacre’s new skipper is not the highest rated player in his own household!
Yes, the system devised by the Professional Cricketer’s Association
(PCA) to rate the Most Valuable Player (MVP) has produced the following Mighty
Banks top ten in week 1 of the 2014 season:
Player MVP
Points
1 1. Waqas
Rasheed 17.93
2 2. Tom
Gilbert 16.49
3 3. Waseem
Aslam 13.51
4 4. Stephen
Butler 9.46
5 5. Paul
Ellison 8.77
6 6. Stephen
Ellison 8.72
7 7. Shaun
Marshall 6.85
8 8. Jonathan
Knocker 5.72
9 9. Mark
Peachy 4.69
1 10. Adam
Palabiyik 4.30
Well done
to Wac for topping the table and good to see the Stiffs have found a medium
pace bowler who can hit the stumps! Good start Gilly - Keep knocking ‘em over!
Good start too from Stevie Butler with the bat, although I understand he rode
his luck a bit. Nothing wrong with a bit of good luck! A decent opening spell
from Shaun and the Peach taking a 1st division scalp again also bodes well for
the season.
Let’s
hope Snowy Malinga doesn’t do a runner to Devon again this week!
By the
way, I’ll be fetching water for Napkin this week - I understand he needs it
more than me!
With the
absence of Shaun, Will and JK from week 2, it is good to hear that Wac is
bringing 3 new players to Killinghall, and a colleague of Mark’s is turning out
for the 2nd’s. With Simar soon to be added to the ranks, Squeaky reportedly set
to return to Duck Pond cricket on Saturday week and the impending reappearance
of Chronic, the captains may soon be faced with unexpected selection dilemmas,
through competition for places!

An added
bonus is likely to be improved fashion and musical taste on view at the MPSG!
Lies, lies and damned statistics. Rub it in Paul, it may not last for long! Obviously the MVP doesn't count wickets taken??!
