A big thank you to everyone who took part in the 24 hour bowling event on Friday-Saturday. The weather was good for us, despite a major monsoon-like downpour about an hour before kick-off and everyone who was meant to show up did, on time(well give or take a little leeway ...Chronic)!!
It seems from "chats" to everyone who took part that we have pledges of close to £1,000 which I think is a great achievement. This will be shared with Yorkshire Air Ambulance. So a big thank you to everyone who either came along and took part, or who sponsored one of the participants.
As always particular thanks for organising and running the activities on the day go to Glyn, Sue and Dave Marshall and Shaun for organising the lighting.
Now, can we please have your sponsorship pledges collected in and returned to either Sue or Glyn as quickly as possible? We will need your sponsorship form, or a copy, so that the prizes for number of wickets and balls bowled can be calculated and awarded.
Thanks again to everyone who took part or organised the event. Personally I'll never have such bowling figures - 4 hours, 75 overs and 90 wickets. Perhaps I've peeked too soon for the season? Time will tell (oh and by the way who needs batsmen...??)

Personally I bowled over 40 overs of leggies and googlies with 40 consecutive maidens which must be enough to bowl me into consideration as the 1st teams premier spinner, watch out Mr Lawrence.
ReplyDeleteMust be some worrying doubt about this Mr Merrill. Having observed your lamentable attempts to hit the stumps on Saturday afternoon without a batsmen Im not sure how you intend to accumulate large numbers of wickets and wrestle the premier spinner spot away from Mr Lawrence...
ReplyDeleteBy catches and stumpings obviously.
